Getaway Retreat

Will, Matt, and I went up to the Sawtooths this weekend to just get away for a bit. We love it up there and it is always nice to get out in the woods and away from reality. We went up to a lake called Hell Roaring and it was so beautiful. I wasn't thrilled to go at first because I was still in my bummer mood and just wanted to sit and do nothing. I am really glad we went though. We got there and didn't park as close as we thought so we had to pack in farther. We kept walking, and walking, and walking and what was suppose to be 1.5 to 2 miles in was about 4.25 miles in. Of cousrse Matt didn't tell me this until we got home, but thankfully he didn't. I don't know if I would have kept going. It was hard but, good to move and think about physical pain and not "heart pain" Matt had to carry Will on his shoulders most of the way because he somehow forgot how to walk in the woods. It was cold out but, there was No One up at the lake and it was beautiful!!! SO quiet and crisp and just amazing. Little Titus even came and fell in a river and I thought he was going to be swept away. He survived.

It was good to have the three of us go be together and have some fun. It was an adventure and we realized that a two year old is just a little too little to "pack pack" as he says. He had fun but three people and a chihuahua in two mummy bags was not. Matt and I will stick to ourselves for now. How great is our GOd for the amazing world He has made. I love being somewhere alone with Him and my family and knowing noone else is there to interfere. Sometimes life gets too busy and too cluttered. We all needed a slow down and this was great. Keep us in your prayers because I am still trying to deal with everything that has gone on. Love you all.
