Recovering

So, we made it through the summer with all the craziness. It was a blast. We had Mom and Dad here for a week, Dave, Sarah and the kids for a week and a half, Kim and Kevin's wedding, then Julie and the kids for over two weeks. It was a crazy, busy time. We loved it. Now we are settling into some routine and getting ready for fall. I canned 8 pints of tomatoes with Mom last weekend and hope to do more each week as my tomatoes are finally coming. I have loved my little garden this year and I actually didn't kill anything!!! If you know me at all you know that this is a huge deal. Well, to be fair Matt is the reason. He made raised beds and hooked up a great watering system, so it was just up to me to feed, fertilize and prune. It has made it and we have enjoyed cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, beans, sweet peas, beets, radishes, and onions. We also just bought a quarter of a cow again and are praying that we will not have a broken freezer again.

Will started 1st grade this week. I am still waiting for most of my curriculum to get here but we have began with reading, basics and writing. We are trying to figure out a routine and how this is all going to work. I am really excited to do this with him and although it will be challenging I am glad it is going to be us teaching him at this point. I love to see it when he gets something new.

Tobi went in for his 5 month check up today and is 15lb 10oz and growing well. He is doing so good and celebrated turning 5 months by rolling over. He is such a sweet boy and a lot of fun. Will plays with him and has started to make him laugh. He adores his big brother. I just love my boys and for so long I dreaded the age difference but it actually has been nice. Will is a great helper and does so much for us. He entertains Tobi and is really good and helping him when he tries to choke or has a hard time breathing. It is so cute to see Tobi talk to him and coo whenever Will is around. I just have to make sure that Will doesn't smother him with kisses. =)

So now that things are settling in more I am deciding about work and how that all plays into hand. I am waiting for my license and I will go from there. In the mean time I am loving canning, baking bread in my new bread machine (yes, I broke down and bought one after my many, many, many, many, many attempts to make it on my own), homeschooling, playing with the boys, reading, gardening, finding projects for Matt to do and being outside. I am a lucky woman. Well, maybe blessed is a better word. =)
