August
I have been home already for 3 weeks and I don't know how it has gone this fast. We have been busy and a good busy. We had a a little party for Will since I missed his birthday while I was gone and it was low key and perfect. I really didn't want a whole shabang and it was a few friends and Nana and Pappa. He loved it and had fun with little friends. I can't believe that my little man is already 5. We have decided to homeshool him since that is pretty much we do anyways and it is what we have really wanted to do. He learns a lot just working with Matt at the coffee hut and with me at home so we will add in more specific things and keep doing what we are doing. He is also in gymnastics once a week and was just invited to a class that is by invitation only. He is doing really well which isn't a surprise for how strong he is a how he flips and climbs over everything. He is fun to watch.
Matt and I went backpacking up in the Sawtooths going through Stanley. I love it up there and outside of Valdez, AK it has to be our favorite place. We packed in to a beautiful lake, Imogene. It was nice for the two of us to get away and be alone in such a beautiful place. We took Suka with us which was fun because he packed in his own food and some of our stuff. It kicked my butt but I loved it. I was overwhelmed at night with how many stars we could see. It almost took my breath away and I was overwhelmed with the presence of God in this world. He is so good. It rained on our way out which was fun because it was a light rain and it kept it cool. It was a great trip.

Last weekend we did a quick camping trip just overnight but it was fun to bring Will. He loved it and we found a great spot on the river that was deep enough to jump off the rocks into and plenty of shallow places for Will to play in. Will had a little too much fun with the smores and cheetos and threw up in the morning because he had too much. His little stomach isn't use to that kind of food but right after he asked if there were anymore marshmallows and he was fine. What a goof ball. He is growing so much and I can't believe it.
I have been missing the Philippines but I am adjusting back into life here. I am excited to see what God has for us as a family. I am finishing up my final things for my academics for midwifery school. (or dragging my feet to finish) I still can't believe I am as far along as I am. I have been so blessed with Rose and Ian who I work with here in Boise. They have been amazing teachers and mentors. I am going to soak up all the time I can with them as they are heading back to the Philippines in April next year to continue their work they do with Mercy in Action. I also have been blessed with Vicki Penwell's mentoring. She has been so gracious with me and took such good care of me when I got to the Philippines. I am honored to be able to work so close to her. I don't have adequate words for the Penwells and what they have done and continue to do for me. God has healed huge parts of my heart through them. They are a blessing to me and my family and I hope we will always be apart of their lives.
We also are about to embark on a very exciting part of our lives that I will continue on later. We ask for prayers for our family in the next couple weeks and will fill in as time goes on. Thank you for all the prayers this summer and continue them. Love to all and God bless.
