How is it almost May??

Spring is in full swing now, the tress have all blossomed and they are almost done. The weather has been gorgeous, minus the wind. I even got half my garden planted! I don't think that's ever happened before June. Now we will see how long it takes to plant the other half. :)

I had another beautiful birth last week and I know I say it often but women amaze me. How they can find the strength deep in them and do what they feel is impossible in the moment. I am truly blessed with my "job". It was even more beautiful because her two older boys (3 and 5) were there at the moment the baby came and they were so excited. I love it when the whole family gets to be involved. The baby was born at the house and while I love being able to offer my home it will be nice when the birth room is done and they have their own space, and I won't have to kick out my family. Although the boys love going up to Nanas.

Tobin is loving being able to be outside all the time and tries so hard to keep up with his brother, which is pretty impossible. The other day Will rode of with his golden retriever Moose and Tobin tried to run after them yelling "budda" "budda" and looked so sad down the road at them. It was so cute and so sad at the same time. I am personally glad the he is no where near being able to follow and is still my baby. He was quickly distracted with the dirt and shovel in the garden though so we were ok. Let's just say they did get a happy homecoming though.

Each spring I forget how much work it is to get the property ready for summer and to clean up winter. I set the irrigation pipe yesterday and let me tell you, it is a lot more tiring when I am pregnant. haha... I managed to set it in less than an hour, with one blow out, and only soaked from the waist down. :) Then there weed control, weeds, more weed control, weeding, and yes, more weeds. The chickens love the weeds and new bugs though. I am going to try a few turkeys this year. We really don't eat red meat anymore even though we have access to buying wonderful grass fed from our neighbor, but it either doesn't get eaten or our freezer always dies while we are gone. I wish we had more fish, but there is a lack of lakes nearby, and I can't eat my chicken ladies. So... we like turkey, if I can keep them alive maybe that will be an option. We are slowly trying to figure out how to be more self sufficient. Someday!

I am slowly feeling better during the days and I am looking forward to being outside more and more. That seems to help a lot. I am already 15 weeks now and I know it is just going to fly by. God is good and we are enjoying this season in our lives. Now to more weeds and maybe a cup of coffee first. :)

Spring? Glad someone's getting it! We saw a sign in town which read, "Are we in NARNIA? " We had a fun laugh over that. Still snowing here--even today. Thankfully it's warm enough that most of the new snow is melting off. Spring seems far away still. I look out my window and just see winter.
Glad you've been feeling well! Turkeys are a lot of fun. You will enjoy having them.
